Group Life
Group life insurance products and services are available to employers to help meet the needs of employees, retirees and their families. We offer two types of life insurance: Universal Life and Term Life Insurance.
Universal Life Insurance
Group Universal Life (GUL) is a flexible plan for life insurance protection that has the added option of tax-deferred earnings on accumulated cash value. Both the insurance and cash value components of Universal Life are designed to allow adjustments in contribution amounts as financial needs change.
Term Life Insurance
Term life Insurance is the most common type of Life insurance benefit offered by employers today. Benefits are typically offered in either flat amounts - $25,000, $50,000, or $100,000 per employee - or as multiples of employee salaries - 1, 2, or 3, times annual income.
Accidental Death & Dismemberment
Employer sponsored Life insurance plans also generally include Accidental Death & Dismemberment (AD&D) coverage in an amount equal to the core Life benefit. This coverage offers additional benefits in the event of an accidental death or severe dismemberment.
Voluntary Life
Today, many employers also sponsor Life and AD&D benefits that their employees can choose and pay for. These are called voluntary benefits. Employees are increasingly aware of the need to protect their financial security after changing jobs and after retiring. Benefits that meet this need are called portable. Kevin S. Reid Insurance offers many voluntary, employee-paid portable options.
