Best, this organization is the world's oldest and most authoritative source of insurance company ratings and information. The Best's Ratings are one of the industry's standard measurements of insurer financial performance.

Moody's

Moody's provides credit ratings on roughly 700 insurance companies worldwide, with coverage growing rapidly in Europe and Asia. They also rate major reinsurers and financial guarantors. In addition, they provide performance ratings and supporting research on Lloyd's syndicates through Lloyd's Market Service. All of Moody's insurance research services feature analyst access, credit opinions and in-depth analysis on individual companies, and industrywide outlooks and commentary.

Weiss Ratings

Weiss Ratings offers quarterly evaluations of the financial strength of more than 15,000 institutions, including life, health, and annuity insurers, property and casulty insurere, HMOs, Blue Cross Blue Shield plans, and other financial services providers. Their ratings service is subscription based and has become more popular in recent years.
